xDSL-Homepage der Teleconnect GmbH

"Teleconnect GmbH" is engaged in data transmission over symmetrical copper lines for many years. Besides the development of several systems, e.g. in the field of ISDN. UDSL and HDSL, Teleconnect is very much actively involved in observation of the evolution of the worldwide xDSL.

Our activities extend from research of integrated chips and measurement technology providers up to observation the standardisation process and market trends.

Animated by increasing interest in xDSL, we began in 1998 to put together our collected knowledge in form of a PowerPoint presentation to be able to present it to interested persons. Our first activity was done together with "Sächsische Telekommunikationszentrum (Sächs-Tel) e.V." The conference on "xDSL-Network Access and Transmission Systems", was organised by "Sächs-Tel", and took place on 13^th June 1998 in Dresden (Germany). Main speakers were Dr. Andreas Bluschke and Michael Matthews from Teleconnect GmbH.

The unexpected great interest and the extremely positive resonance became incentive to an idea to update lectures’ documents and to publish them on the Wide Web. For a few months we were able to offer only the a German version, but we now present too both an English and a Russian version, thanks to Nadezhda Panchenko for the translation to English and Russian.

We hope that our presentation should not only contribute for understanding in xDSL technologies, also support study xDSL but also give interesting information to xDSL-experts.

• Our attempt is to give a survey of xDSL without going deep into details - these are procurable via our extensive literature list.
• Because of extent of information we don't claim the completeness.
• The evolution of xDSL engineering is very short-lived. Yesterday‘s statements may be out of date today. Often, information is just partly available. Sometimes we have to read "between the lines" and complement it with self-interpretations, which does not always agree with others’ opinion. We are also not free from a mistake, which’s why we don't give full guarantee on the credibility of information.
• Our access to the information sources is finite and it's possible that some facts were overlooked.
• The INTERNET changes fast. Unfortunately we made links to WWW-pages which are already removed. It is impossible to check all our links permanently. We will be please if these pages give a comprehensive information on the subject. In urgent cases we can give you a hardcopy of the desired source.
• Our xDSL-homepage will be updated regularly.
